Generic:  ​

Important Points for Magazines
  • When periodical information is missing (volume, issue, page numbers, article number, etc.), omit it from the reference.  
  • If elements of the date are unavailable, omit the missing information.
  • If the magazine was accessed in print, omit the URL.
  • If the magazine article is from an academic research database (such as Academic Search Complete or OneSearch), and not the regular internet, do not include a URL. 

Newspapers

Generic: 

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year, Month Day). Title of article. Title of Newspaper, periodical information if available. https://www.xxxxxxx

Important Points for  Newspapers
  • Periodical information is often a volume and/or issue number, page numbers, an article number, a newspaper section etc. Omit it from the reference if it is not available. 
    • If you include page numbers, do not use an abbreviation such as pp or p. Only include the numbers.
  • If elements of the date are unavailable, omit the missing information.
  • If the newspaper was accessed in print, omit the URL, but be sure to include page numbers!
  • If the newspaper article is from an academic research database (such as Academic Search Complete or OneSearch), and not the regular internet, do not include a URL.
