What is Patient Education?

Patient education can be defined as the process of influencing patient behavior and producing the changes in knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to maintain or improve health. ---AAFP

Includes materials for health professionals to disseminate among their patients in order to impart knowledge and increase patient compliance. Users will also find information specific to certain population groups and specialized topics. The materials featured in this section are collected from both library-licensed databases and the web. 

2. The Patient Experience
Includes materials and resources that will help improve the patient experience. Here you will find materials that discuss the art of communicating with patients, and tools for bolstering patient health literacy.
