(PsycBOOKS is a subset of PsycINFO).  Enter the title in quotation marks in the PsycINFO database and open the drop down and select SO Publication Name

Good database to use for subject-specific encyclopedias from many disciplines.  Many articles will identify the original researchers on a topic so should prove a start for historical information

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL):

  • Link on library homepage, first time users will complete a short sign-up form
  • Can request journal articles, book chapters and books – the first two options will be electronically sent
  • All responses depend on the potential lending libraries – so far articles have been working well
  • When linking from PsycINFO, ILL form will be filled in with article information – just check it
  • Requests for dissertations are not likely to be filled, but there are two options
    • Search for dissertations in Google – sometimes they are freely available
    • Request the specific pages, chapter, table, chart, any smaller section that was identified and some libraries will copy that part and send electronically
