9/11: Poetry

for the 43 members of Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Local 100, working at the Windows on the World restaurant, who lost their lives in the attack on the World Trade Center

The poet laureate wrote these verses for a service held at Westminster Abbey to remember British victims of the New York attacks

What a difference a day makes

Two 110-line "poem towers," one line for each story of the World Trade Towers. Each line is contributed by a different poet.

Poems read as part of the Brooklyn Arts Council's Folk Arts' annual 9/11 memorial project, which in 2010 focused on collecting and sharing memorial poems.
