Value Line User Guide

This guide will show users how to navigate the Value Line database to screen stocks and get access to online educational tools and company information.

About the Stock Screener

Value Line's Stock Screener allows you to screen for companies that meet criteria that you select.

Find the Stock Screener

To find the Stock Screener:

  • Click on the Find Ideas tab at the top of the page.
  • Click on Screener.

Click on Find Ideas and Screener to open the Stock Screener page.

Select Criteria

  • Select criteria you're interested in from your options on the left.
    • All criteria you select will appear on the right.
    • You can drag and drop criteria to be searched in your desired order.
  • Choose values for your specified criteria by entering them into the provided boxes or using the sliders on a distribution graph.
    • Your results will automatically filter as you continue to adjust your criteria.
  • All Cumulative Matches, or companies matching your specified criteria, will display at the bottom of the page.
    • Click on the company name to read more about a company and see the report.
  • You can save your screen by clicking the Create Saved Screen button at the top of the page. This will allow you to retrieve this search again in the future.

Export Company Data

You can export company data from your Stock Screen as an Excel or CSV file.

  • At the bottom of the page, you will see several tabs from which you can view stats on your cumulative matches. These include tabs for: Criteria [the criteria that you selected for the screen], Custom [customize columns of data that you want to view], Ratings & RanksEstimates & ProjectionsProfitabilityAnnual Rates, and Industry.
  • Select the Download Data button to download selected data points as an Excel or CSV file.

The Download Data button at the bottom of the page will download selected data points as an Excel or CSV file.
