Report on the Condition of Education 2023.
Beginning in 2021, individual indicators can be accessed online on the newly redesigned Condition of Education Indicator System website. A synthesis of key findings from these indicators can be found in the Report on the Condition of Education, a more user-friendly PDF report.
A total of 88 indicators are included in this year’s Condition of Education, 52 of which were updated this year. As in prior years, these indicators present a range of topics from prekindergarten through postsecondary education, as well as labor force outcomes and international comparisons. Additionally, this year’s 52 updated indicators include 23 indicators on school crime and safety.

Digest of Education Statistics 2022.
Published by the U.S. Department of Education, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). Its primary purpose is to provide a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from prekindergarten through graduate school. The Digest includes a selection of data from many sources, both government and private, and draws especially on the results of surveys and activities carried out by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). To qualify for inclusion in the Digest, material must be nationwide in scope and of current interest and value.
Report on Indicators of School Crime and Safety: 2021
A publication from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), Published in June 2022, it provides detailed statistical information on the nature of crime in schools. This report contains 23 indicators of crime at school from a number of sources.
The full set of 23 indicators—with each indicator presented as an independent, more detailed analysis of a crime and safety topic—can be accessed in the online Indicator System, like in previous editions. Each indicator can be found on the website, and readers can download PDFs of the individual indicators. Indicators online are hyperlinked to tables in the Digest of Education Statistics, where readers can obtain the underlying data. The PDF version of the report, however, has been transformed into the Report on Indicators of School Crime and Safety, which highlights and synthesizes key findings from the full set of 23 indicators online.
America's Children in Brief: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2022
This year's America's Children in Brief highlights selected special feature indicators related to COVID-19 to address the impact of this pandemic on child well-being. Indicator titles are COVID-19 Immunization, Child Food Insufficiency, Housing Instability, Pandemic Health Care and Child Care, How Schools Adapted to Pandemic Response, Summer Enrichment Programs, Child and Adolescent Mortality, and Substance Use and Mental Health of Adolescents. In addition to the focus on COVID-19, this brief provides a snapshot of the overall well-being of America's children through the At-a-Glance summary table displaying the most recent data for all 41 regular indicators.
America's Children: Key National Indicators of Well-Being, 2021
This report is a compendium of indicators depicting both the promises and the challenges confronting our Nation's young people. It is an ongoing series and presents 41 key indicators on important aspects of children's lives.
This year's report continues to present key indicators in seven domains: family and social environment, economic circumstances, health care, physical environment and safety, behavior, education, and health.
