What are Popular Articles?

Searching Tips

When searching for Popular Articles, begin with Communication and Mass Media Complete to locate articles in the field of communications.  If these are not proving helpful then try either MainFile, MasterFILE Premier, or US Major Dailies.

Please remember to limit search results to: Magazines or Newspapers or News. (Remember that US Major Dailies are all newspapers so no limit is needed.)

Journals and Library OneSearch

You can also search for a specific journal and a topic in that journal simultaneously.

For example, if you were looking for wildlife articles in National Geographic, in the search bar you would type:

JN "National Geographic" AND "wildlife"

JN = Journal Name and following that, in quotations you would put the name of the journal, which in this case is National Geographic.

Inserting a Bolean filter, capital AND, in between makes sure to pull articles about wildlife from the National Geographic journal.

After the AND you would insert quotations around the topic you want to research. In this case, that would be wildlife.

Note: This searching tip for journals works for all source types.
