LGBTQIA+ Resources for the Quinnipiac University Community

The first article to appear in The Quinnipiac Chronicle about the LGBTQ+ student community was published in the October 7, 1976 issue. Written by features editor Liz Natale and titled “Gay Liberation at QC,” the article reported on the efforts of an undergraduate lesbian couple, Loraine Angueira and Judi Feldman, to establish the first student organization on campus, the short-lived Quinnipiac College Gay Alliance. In addition to covering the creation of the Gay Alliance, the article provides details about the couple’s relationship and also the campus climate for LGBTQ+ students attending Quinnipiac at that time

The Netter Pride Alliance (NPA) is the sexual and gender minority (SGM) and allied student organization at the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. The group's aim is to provide visibility to the experiences of both SGM patients and providers through education, networking, service opportunities, and community building.

A group made up of LGBTQ+ law students and allies whose mission is to promote diversity and inclusion in the community, by promoting awareness and education about issues affecting LGBTQ+ people in the legal field and beyond.

The Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) serves as a safe haven for all students who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as allied supporters who want to get involved. In addition to providing a nurturing environment, GSA strives to educate students on issues facing the LGBTQ+ community currently and historically. All are welcome!

Established in 1935, the Chronicle is the student-run newspaper at Quinnipiac University. Every Wednesday during the academic year, except for exam periods, the newspaper is distributed on all three university campuses. QUChronicle.com is updated daily, and and more than 20 years of the newspaper can be accessed and read. A search bar lets users do keyword searching of back issues.

Created by senior journalism major Marianna Rappa during the fall of 2020, this Instagram provides a space where QU LGBTQ+ students can discuss issues that their community faces and advocate for change on campus.
