Text inside front cover reads: "Electric Magneto Machine Newly Designed. Connect the two Metallic Cords or Wires with the two Sockets at the top of the Box. The handles connected with the other ends of the cords or wires, are to be applied to the part of the person through which it is desirable to pass the current of Electricity. Screw on the small winch or crank, then turn the crank. The strength of the current may he regulated by the speed, and also by drawing out the knob at the side of the Box. It is desirable to increased the strength to that degree only, which is most agreeable to the patient. It is less unpleasant if wet sponges are placed in the ends of the handle or if wrapped with moistened flannels, and these applied to the skin as they prevent the prickling sensation. CAUTION. -The wet sponges should not be put in the Box, as the would rust the machinery, The bearing and springs should be piled occasionally, but care should taken that oil does not get on the edge of the Wheel."
